Currarevagh is a graceful Victorian Country House, set in a 180-acre private estate on the shores of Lough Corrib in Connemara. Currarevagh offers genuine Irish hospitality, a timeless experience in a unique setting which has welcomed guests for 130 years. Peace and tranquillity reign, with elegant bedrooms and comfortable drawing rooms in a beautifully maintained historic house, all surrounded by majestic scenery and stunning vistas.
The estate is a European Special Area of Conservation with woods to explore, abundant wildlife to be spotted, maps to guide you on long walks, boats so you can escape to your private island and lots of space to unwind and retreat from the outside world. Currarevagh is perfectly located for Connemara and all it has to offer, the Aran Islands and Galway City, all along the Wild Atlantic Way.
Food and feasting are a central part of what they do, a huge source of pride. Lucy has cooked professionally for over 20 years from London to Sydney and back again, constantly innovating and always creative. They strive to give a sense of place using the best of what is available from local farmers and artisan suppliers. They do not have communal dining. Breakfast sees a big emphasis on homemade goods from granola to kombucha and yoghurts; Picnics available each day and Afternoon Tea for everyone staying at Currarevagh. The unique ‘Hatch Bar’ has everything from a growing Organic and Natural wine list to local gins, beers, and homemade concoctions.
Currarevagh is also available for private rental for 12 to 20 guests. Please note it is not suitable for children under 12.
