The historic port of Youghal (the old town walls, built in the 12th Century, are still intact) is one of Ireland's heritage towns and is steeped in history. Sir Walter Raleigh was Mayor of Youghal in 1588 and 1589. Youghal is on the southern coast of Ireland on the N25, 35 minutes from Cork Airport and two hours from Shannon Airport.
This area is a golfers paradise; 12 courses are within an hour's drive.
Embrace the outdoors along the fabulous cliffs in Ardmore/Ballycotton and Knockadoon Head or hike up the Comeraghs or the Vee Gap. Visit Spike Island, Fota Wildlife Park, Cobh Queenstown, Jameson Irish Whiskey Distillery, Blarney Castle or the Rock of Cashel all within easy driving distance.
